Astrolite (S) Ant Nest Starter Kit - Pre order
Astrolite (s) Ant Nest Starter Kit
The compact Astrolite starter kit is designed for beginners and experienced alike. Discovering and learning about the fascinating life of ants could not be easier. This kit includes everrything you need to get started.
It is the perfect formicarium for small to medium sized colonies of ants, ranging from Messor barbarus to Camponotus nicobarensis. The nest combines both a nesting area and foraging area in one which makes it easy to use and observe your ants through the crystal clear acrylic layers.
The clear foraging area box is connected via a small integrated portal that leads to the main nesting area. As with all of our other nests, our kits are modular and can be connected via 10mm tubing to other types of nests to create & innovate your ant kingdom!
Hydrating the Astrolite nest could not be easier as the in-built hydration tower can be taken off with ease to top up with water. The PVA sponge provided is a perfect medium to provide the required humidity for your ants as the water slowly evaporates within the layers of the formicarium.
This nest incorporates three, small nifty doors that allow you to open different chambers and parts of the nest as it grows, making it an ideal nest for both small and medium colonies.
Lastly, it also comes with very handy, custom made red acrylic panel to place over your Astrolite nest to ensure your ants do not get stressed when they're not being observed!
Note: This kit requires assembly and a mini screwdriver is provided to help you with the setup.

My go to place, large selection of ants and top quality service. My ant empire is slowly growing with the latest edition of Acromyrmex octospinosus which was well packed and the fungus has next to no die off from the shipping.
I recieved my lovely Myrmecia nigriceps queen in haste. Box was well packaged; Temperature was well defended against, and disturbance was well reduced with 2 layers of loose packing peanuts, one outside of the polystyrene box, and one inside...
We bought this for our granddaughter, as she had a pet garden ant that sadly passed way. We got The formiLab (nano) ant nest starter kit. The ant colony is Messor barbarus with one queen and 2/5 workers and there are brood too! Everything you need to get started...
A wonderful company bringing ants to the masses. My son and I attended a workshop with Cesar today. He was wonderfully knowledgeable and handled 8 children so well who were excited about being ant keepers....
